Christopher Nolan's Goodbye

The Dark Knight Rises director/co-writer/co-producer Christopher Nolan wrote the foreword to The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy.

"Alfred. Gordon. Lucius. Bruce . . . Wayne. Names that have come to mean so much to me. Today, I’m three weeks from saying a final good-bye to these characters and their world. It’s my son’s ninth birthday. He was born as the Tumbler was being glued together in my garage from random parts of model kits. Much time, many changes. A shift from sets where some gunplay or a helicopter were extraordinary events to working days where crowds of extras, building demolitions, or mayhem thousands of feet in the air have become familiar.

People ask if we’d always planned a trilogy. This is like being asked whether you had planned on growing up, getting married, having kids. The answer is complicated. When David and I first started cracking open Bruce’s story, we flirted with what might come after, then backed away, not wanting to look too deep into the future. I didn’t want to know everything that Bruce couldn’t; I wanted to live it with him. I told David and Jonah to put everything they knew into each film as we made it. The entire cast and crew put all they had into the first film. Nothing held back. Nothing saved for next time. They built an entire city. Then Christian and Michael and Gary and Morgan and Liam and Cillian started living in it. Christian bit off a big chunk of Bruce Wayne’s life and made it utterly compelling. He took us into a pop icon’s mind and never let us notice for an instant the fanciful nature of Bruce’s methods.

I never thought we’d do a second—how many good sequels are there? Why roll those dice? But once I knew where it would take Bruce, and when I started to see glimpses of the antagonist, it became essential. We re-assembled the team and went back to Gotham. It had changed in three years. Bigger. More real. More modern. And a new force of chaos was coming to the fore. The ultimate scary clown, as brought to terrifying life by Heath. We’d held nothing back, but there were things we hadn’t been able to do the first time out—a Batsuit with a flexible neck, shooting on Imax. And things we’d chickened out on—destroying the Batmobile, burning up the villain’s blood money to show a complete disregard for conventional motivation. We took the supposed security of a sequel as license to throw caution to the wind and headed for the darkest corners of Gotham.

I never thought we’d do a third—are there any great second sequels? But I kept wondering about the end of Bruce’s journey, and once David and I discovered it, I had to see it for myself. We had come back to what we had barely dared whisper about in those first days in my garage. We had been making a trilogy. I called everyone back together for another tour of Gotham. Four years later, it was still there. It even seemed a little cleaner, a little more polished. Wayne Manor had been rebuilt. Familiar faces were back—a little older, a little wiser . . . but not all was as it seemed.

Gotham was rotting away at its foundations. A new evil bubbling up from beneath. Bruce had thought Batman was not needed anymore, but Bruce was wrong, just as I had been wrong. The Batman had to come back. I suppose he always will.

Michael, Morgan, Gary, Cillian, Liam, Heath, Christian . . . Bale. Names that have come to mean so much to me. My time in Gotham, looking after one of the greatest and most enduring figures in pop culture, has been the most challenging and rewarding experience a filmmaker could hope for. I will miss the Batman. I like to think that he’ll miss me, but he’s never been particularly sentimental."

It ends tomorrow!

For some countries it ended today but I will just stick with the international date. I'm not talking about the end of the world, I'm talking about the end of an epic storytelling by Christopher Nolan.

From where I am, I don't have much of an option but to wait for a decent print and download it. But if you have the opportunity, don't miss this. Reviews, comments are welcome but don't post spoilers please!

Once more into the fray…

Just watched The Grey, a film based on the short story Ghost Walker by Ian MacKenzie Jeffers. Heard mixed reviews about the film from friends and colleagues, but had to watch it myself, after all Liam Neeson is there and you know he is Mr. Oskar Schindler, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ra's al Ghul and one of my favorite actor.

This was my kind of a film, survival thriller and I liked it in some twisted sort of way and I think you should watch it too. Some may say the film have exaggerated emotional scenes, some may say they portrayed those grey's way to violent, but the film is about a man’s struggle to keep himself alive from himself. Liam Neeson portrayed the role to its perfection, just like he always does. Films are such a wonderful form of art, you can relate your life’s events to it, so the liking or disliking of this film will completely depend on how you can relate to it, how your life’s events were. To me the best part was the last conversation between Ottway (Liam Neeson), Diaz (Frank Grillo) and Hendrick (Dallas Roberts), where they finally reveal their first name to each other, brothers in arms.

Once more into the fray…
Into the last good fight I'll ever know.
Live and die on this day…
Live and die on this day…

One of the strongest parts of the film was its score composed by Marc Streitenfeld. It just adds another dimension to the film and proves yet again how powerful music can be. The score evokes a sense of isolation, but a sense of loss and dread as well. Though the piece I liked was The City Surf by Jamin Winans which was originally composed for Ink, a 2009 science fiction fantasy film. The score will remind you of John Murphy’s Sunshine.

Now to the environmentalists and animal activists aka hippies, shut the fuck up you morons and stop whining about how the film depicts grey wolves in a negative light. I love animals and I know they are endangered but instead of going after a film, target those who are actually responsible for their endangerment.

QUBEE or FuckMe!

I’m pretty sure we all are tired of their service by now. I bought 2 of their modems last month and have been having problem for the last one week. I bought those knowing their fair usage policy, so let’s not go there for now and also how they manipulate your bandwidth.

So I have been calling their "incompetent" customer support for the last 5 days. I spend over 200 bucks on phone bill (to AKTEL's delight) just today. They were trying to explain to me what’s wrong with all 4 of my PCs and how their service is A-OK. They wanna know if I placed the modem high enough, if the torrent file have seeders, if my pc have virus, if my OS is up to date. What the idiots doesn't know is, I have been using PC since those stupid fucks were sucking on their mommy's titties. So I tried to find some different way to contact their engineer, what he told was they were doing some maintenance work and they don’t know when it will be fixed. So the goddamn customer support just blew my hard earned money & also my Friday morning!

I don’t know what the policy of those erectile dysfunctional Donald Trump wannabes are but I’m pretty sure that the customers would be happy to know the truth, if your service is down. I also work for a service bureau and we also have unexpected downtime but we prefer telling the customers what’s going on and also an estimated time. Well Mr. Trump your support decided not to return my calls or follow up.

To all the Chairman, Board Members, CEO, CTO, Customer Support personnel, you know where you get your salary from? ME, US.

And ohhh... all hail to digital Bangladesh... where you will be digitally sodomized. So just bend over and don't bother getting up.

While I was writing this post I got disconnected 37 times, hurray!

I edited this post cause few of my friends thought I wrote too much and they are right, I was angry. Sorry if I offended anyone beside Qubee and its employees, I didn't mean to.

George Barnett

Another day was ending and I was doing my usual stuff, checking mails, browsing news and gathering torrents, when I came across this message on Pirate Bay's homepage by an english musician named George Barnett.

A message from George Barnett, an english musician.

The message was quite interesting. Downloaded the album, liked it, reminds me of Beatles. Shared it with my colleagues and friends, they liked it too. Download and check it out yourself.

A Nice Song

Breakeven by The Script

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just praying to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks no it don't break even

Her best days will be some of my worst
She finally met a man that's gonna put her first
While I'm wide awake she's no trouble sleeping
'Cause when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven... even... no

What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you,
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces

They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven even... no

What am I gonna to do when the best part of me was always you,
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces
One still in love while the other one's leaving
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven)

Oh you got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I took the blame.
Now I'm try'na make sense of what little remains ooh
'Cause you left me with no love and no love to my name.

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks no it don't break
No it don't break
No it don't break even no

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you and
What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're ok
(Oh glad your okay now)
I'm falling to pieces yeah
(Oh I'm glad your okay)
I'm falling to pieces yeah
(One still in love while the other ones leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven)

Oh it don't break even no
Oh it don't break even no
Oh it don't break even no

Draft Education Act welcome

We heartily welcome the final draft of the country's first-ever Education Act that seeks to implement the guidelines provided in the National Education Policy-2010. The draft attempts to bring all private schools, colleges and universities under a regulatory framework.

Clearly, the aim of the draft Education Act is t to restrain private institutions from charging unreasonably high fees. As stipulated in it, all private educational institutions, irrespective of their mediums of instruction, including the MPO-listed schools and colleges will have to receive the government's permission before fixing tuition fees and other charges. It also provides for stern punitive actions against those who will be found to act in violation of these rules. As it stands, the draft Act appears to be rather ambitious, though it largely reflects the expectations of common people who have always demanded government intervention in matters of excessive charging of tuition and admission fees by many private schools and colleges.

Having said that, we would like to caution that unless steps are taken judiciously in matters of tuition and other fees, its implementation may prove to be discouraging for the educational institutions in the private sector. The private sector has been playing a very important role in catering to the increasing demands of education services. We should not forget that if it was not for the quality education provided by some of the leading private universities of the country, we would not be able to keep a lot of students from going abroad. Therefore, in fixing various fees the genuine cost required by a good private educational institution, be it a school or university, must be taken into consideration along with rising inflationary pressures.

At the same time, the authorities concerned should take care that the draft Act in no way curbs the autonomy of the private and public universities.

Write! Write! Write!

I've been staring at the monitor for the last couple of hours. I know what I have to write but it just doesn't feel right.

Decided not to stare at word anymore, instead I shall stare at illustrator :)
