Kahan ko tu jaati hai: Where do you go?
Sapnon ko sajati hai: While adorning dreams,
Apnon ko ley jaati hai: While taking along closed ones.
Baaghon mein jab behti hai: When you flow through the gardens,
Kaanon mein kuch kehti hai: You whisper something in the ears,
Aati hai nazar nahin: You stay invisible
Saanson mein par rehti hai: But I feel you with my every breath
Hawaa hai pawan hai: Are you air, or the breeze
Vayu hai, purvaaee hai: Or the gusts, or the easterly winds?
Jeevan hai, jaan hai, ya parchaayee hai: Are you existence, life, or just a shadow?
Lene aayi hai ya kuch mere liye laayi hai: Are you seeking something, or do you have something for me?
Poochoonga mein kya tujhse: May I ask you
Kahan se tu aayi hai: Where you come from?
Tu kaun hai, tu kaun hai: Who are you? who are you?
Tu jab chalti chalti badal: So you move, so do the clouds
Jhuk jati toh girtey patte: And when you stop, the leaves ruffle down
Tu kehti to diye jalte: When you speak, lamps lit up,
Phoolon ke dil dil se milte: And hearts of flowers meet with hearts

Khat Khat koi nahin aisa ek jhonka hai: Those gusts which knock as if there was somebody
